In an early morning announcement by publisher EastAsiaSoft and developer Softstar Entertainment Inc, it has been announced that the life simulation spin-off game to the Chinese RPG series Sword and Fairy, Sword and Fairy Inn 2, will be receiving a physical release exclusively on the Nintendo Switch. Pre-orders for the game are set to open on Thursday, May 25th at 11:00pm Hong Kong time (11:00am ET / 8:00am PT / 4:00pm UK) through the online retail partner, Playasia.
The spin-off sets out to incorporate comfy restaurant and life management sim elements into the RPG franchise. Coupled with a chibi art style and accessible gameplay, it is set to be a solid “jumping-on” point for newcomers, but also doubling as a celebratory title for long-time fans.
A digital launch on the Nintendo Switch eShop is slated for Summer 2023, with this physical release being a second option on top of that. EastAsiaSoft has also confirmed that Sword and Fairy Inn 2 is currently in the pipeline for additional platforms including PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and the Windows Store, with release dates to be announced in the future.
The game’s Limited Edition shall be priced at US$39.99 plus shipping, and will include the game, manual, soundtrack CD, sticker sheets, and a numbered certificate in a collector’s box. For those interested in standard copies, open pre-orders will also be available at a price point of US$29.99.
