Musashi Industrial and Starflight Concern, frequently acronym’ed’d to MISC, is mostly considered to be an industrial ship manufacturer in the world of Star Citizen. Being the brand behind the cargo-carrying Hull series, the mining-oriented Prospector and other industry-oriented series such as the Freelancer and Starfarer – it is no wonder where it gets this reputation from. But, as part of Invictus Launch Week, developer Cloud Imperium Games has announced the Mirai Fury and Mirai Fury MX from the brand – which is quite different from anything we have seen from MISC yet.
Mirai is the very essence of performance – we take the impossibly high standard in star flight set by MISC and dare to push it to its absolute limits and beyond.
The Fury defines our mission – a truly next-generation snub chassis, meticulously tuned for exceptional performance.
When we built the Fury, we threw out the rule book and fundamentally changed the way we approached snub craft. After some time behind the stick, we’re confident you’ll do the same.
Filling the role of a snub-craft, the Mirai Fury is a small and speedy craft designed for a crew of one, coming it at up to 7m in length, 5.4m in width and 2.6m in height when in-flight, and 6.13m in length, 3.8m in width and 3.27m in height. But does it pack a punch? It seems so, boasting 4x Size-2 pilot controlled weapons and 4x Size-2 missiles for when you need that extra oomph.
Promoted features of the craft include:
Next-Gen Skirmisher
Four Size 2 laser repeaters, optimized for absolute precision and control, make the Fury a revelation in short-range space combat; it’s capable of relentlessly harassing the largest and most heavily armed vessels while remaining elusive to targeting systems.
Overwhelming Force
A truly revolutionary approach to snub craft design maximizes portability, allowing for effortless transport and the ability to launch quickly into overwhelming swarm formations.
Hard Target
Deep integration of Xi’an tech and design principles gives the Fury class-defying maneuverability and sense-shattering velocity, rendering it elusive in conflict.
Being a snub craft, the MISC Mirai Fury is not wallet breaking, at only $50.00 USD for a warbond purchase of $55.00 USD when using store credit. However, it should be noted that snub crafts typically have a specific use case, often around combat, and would not be an ideal ship for those seeking to travel the stars. The ship is flyable in-game as well, and is also testable during Invictus Launch Week – so if you are curious, be sure to log in and check it out.
In development by Cloud Imperium Games and their studios across North America and Europe, Star Citizen is being helmed by Wing Commander (1990s) creator Chris Roberts. The game has currently been in a long-term alpha phase with no confirmed release date. Despite this, the studio has raised more than half a billion USD through on-going crowdfunding. Please keep in mind should you decide to purchase towards Star Citizen, that this is an incomplete project and that you are pledging towards an extended crowdfunding campaign with no 100% guarantee of a finished product.
