Heading to Melbourne for the second year running and aiming to be bigger and better, DreamHack Melbourne 2023 is set to kick off this Friday (28 April 2023). The event will be hosted at Melbourne Parks, and feature a range of esports, live music, gaming and more – featuring local and international talent and fans – and the usual Bring-Your Own Computer (BYOC) event.
On the eSports side of things, the ESL Challenger at DreamHack Melbourne sets out to showcase thrilling live competitions, including international and local CS:GO teams battling it out for a prize pool of over $140,000 AUD. The League of Legends Circuit Oceania (LCO) Split 1 Grand Final, featuring Team Bliss vs The Chiefs, takes place on April 29, while North American TSM Challengers face five Oceanic All-Stars.
For those hoping to get last minute tickets to the BYOC LAN event, unfortunately it has sold out. Participants in this Dreamhack staple will spend the weekend at Rod Laver Arena, competing for over $40,000 in prizes across Valorant, Fortnite, Call of Duty, Rocket League, CS:GO, and more. Fighting game fans can also get in on the prize money-winning action all day every day in the Centrepiece expo with $5k up for grabs across the weekend.
The first-ever Artists Alley at DreamHack Melbourne sets out to offer attendees an immersive gaming art experience, with over 40 local artists participating. Attendees can also participate in panels, such as the ‘CosHack 101: Level Up Panel,’ or compete for a share of $16,000 in the Cosplay Competition: Endgame Quest.
Nighttime festivities include a live podcast session hosted by the Trash Taste Podcast on 28 April, and performances from Mashd N Kutcher, Godlands, Luke Million, and more on Friday and Saturday nights at Rod Laver Arena.
