The Diofield Chronicle to Release in Late-September 2022, Demo Going Live Next Month

A new real-time tactical RPG series is scheduled to launch in the coming months, with Square Enix confirming plans to release The Diofield Chronicle on the PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch platforms starting 22 September 2022. The new release will be available physically on all gaming consoles, as well as digitally on all natively supported systems.

According to Square Enix, in The DioField Chronicle, players should expect to go in “[experiencing] a Real Time Tactical Battle (RTTB) – a new, deeply strategic, real-time battle system, which is further enhanced with a gritty and immersive storyline that is crafted by a skilled and experienced development team featuring unique character designs by Taiki (Lord of Vermilion III, IV), concept art by Isamu Kamikokuryo (FINAL FANTASY XIIFINAL FANTASY XIII) and beautifully orchestrated music by world-renowned composers Ramin Djawadi and Brandon Campbell, known best for their work on Game of Thrones

While we can expect to hear more about the game in the couple of months leading to its release, the biggest opportunity will be from 10 August 2022, the date they plan to offer a playable demo on selected platforms. In this demo, players will be able to “experience the beginning parts of the game”, with save data transferable over to the final release at launch.

Story of The Diofield Chronicle

The era of myths gives way to an era of great turmoil…

The world of men is mired in an age of war which rages for year on end.

A band of elite mercenaries calling themselves Blue Fox arise amidst the flames and the chaos, their fates and valiant deeds to be sung of in ages yet to come.

But when all is said and done, will the name “Blue Fox” come to signify hope or darkest tragedy?
