Defend The Bits TD Tower Defence Game from Gold Coast Studio Enters Steam Early Access Next Week 1

The inaugural game from Australian developer PlaySide Studios new Gold Coast-based dev team, PlaySide North, is scheduled to go live on Steam Early Access starting 16 June 2022 (10am AEST). Titled Defend the Bits TD, this game seeks to be a “cute and colourful” game in the Tower Defence genre, tasking the player to build a BIT army as they strive to overcome the hordes of attacking blocks which seek to invade their land.

Players should expect to have access to 20+ characters who are armed with bows, axes, cannons and the all-mighty frying pan (not guaranteed to be all-mighty), as they embark on over 100 quests within 15 environments,  from luscious grasslands and harsh volcanoes to mysterious caves. After completing each level, an endless mode will also be accessible, for those who wish to march their units into the hellfire.

Defend the Bits TD is not a brand new title per ce, being an “upgraded, refined and re-imagined” version of PlaySide Studios’ earlier mobile game. It is being made available exclusively on the PC via Steam’s Early Access program, priced at US$12.99 / AUD$18.50 / NZ$16.49.

We are very excited to be launching the first title from our new Gold Coast development team, PlaySide North, and can’t wait to share news around some of our other projects very soon!

“Defend The Bits is the first launch for the PlaySide North studio, and a key launch for the entire PlaySide team as we continue to demonstrate our commitment to bringing great games to PC & Console audiences, and our focus on AAA game development. We’re working on some very exciting projects, and will be talking more about these in the coming months
