Apple Music Service Launches on PlayStation 5

Expanding their range of multimedia offerings on their newest generation gaming console, Sony Interactive Entertainment has confirmed that Apple Music is launching on the PlayStation 5 from today. Sony are quick to point out that the PS5 will be the first gaming console to offer an integrated Apple Music experience.

According to Sony, gamers will be able to “enjoy more than 90 million songs from Apple Music, tens of thousands of curated playlists, music videos in 4K, Apple Music Radio streaming today’s hits, classics, and country live, and personalized playlists based on [their] music preferences”. Seamless intergration is also being offered with background music and music video playback, so “players can listen before, during, or after their gameplay session”.

The Apple Music app is now available to freely download from the PlayStation Store. However, as with most streaming platforms available, does require an active subscription purchasable through Apple.
