Not For Broadcast Receives ‘Play Your Way’ Update

Just ahead of the development team at NotGames moving forward with principal photography on the third (and currently, final) episode of FMV Simulation/Puzzle game Not for Broadcast, they have released a new update onto Steam. Dubbed the ‘Play Your Way’ update, this patch includes both numerous bug fixes and a selection of content updates designed to allow you to tailor the gaming experience to your individual preferences.

Therefore, if you are looking to unlock that macabre version of Mr. Bear, discover the secret Megan Singing ending, or wish to see an alternate event based on your actions – now may be a good time to update and boot up Not For Broadcast for another session (or two) of editing room tomfoolery.

You can find a list of updates (shared by NotGames via the official Not For Broadcast Steam Page) by clicking HERE or scrolling down.

Full Controller Support

You can now play the entire game on the controller of your choice – with fully-remappable controls and on-screen prompts.

Difficulty Modes

Whether you’re a veteran broadcaster looking for a new challenge, or if all that stress just isn’t your vibe – there’s a mode for you. NFB now includes 3 levels of difficulty: Intern, Broadcaster and Showrunner. At each level the broadcast room is more intense, and the audience at home more fickle.

Story Mode

On top of that we’re introducing Story Mode. Here you can focus on enjoying the story of NFB without any of the stress. Edit the news without those pesky extra mechanics and multi-tasking to worry about.

Customisable Gameplay

But we’ve gone EVEN FURTHER. We are now putting the power in players’ hands to truly ‘Play Your Way’.

In the past, we’ve been reticent about changing the core experience of the game because we believe that the feeling of stress is integral to the story we are telling. But we also believe that players should be able to play their games in the way that works best for them. So, although we have our vision for how we think Not For Broadcast should feel to players, we want to hand that decision to you.

New Custom Difficulty allows you to individually alter the difficulty of, or even turn off, certain mechanics if they are negatively affecting your experience of the game.

Accessibility Settings

We’ve added a range of accessibility settings to support our players with various visual, audio and motor needs. You can now change the size, colour and background of subtitles, remove confusing visual effects, turn on visual HUD cues, as well as extensive colourblind support where important colours can be individually customised.

Alternate Video Format

We now have a version of the game with an alternate video player with the video content in a different format for systems that aren’t displaying video correctly. To download it, right click Not for Broadcast and go to Properties. Under the Betas tab select Alternate Video and redownload the game.
