With Square Enix confirming yesterday that Final Fantasy XIV: Endwalker will be officially released worldwide on 23 November 2021, one concern some may had would be how their attention could be kept on the game for another half-year. After all, while Shadowbringers had many strong suits, COVID-19 interrupting the development schedule did lead to a downturn in activity from some of the community.
Unfortunatelym we do not have a major v5.6 patch lined up before then. But, the development/creative team have laid out a schedule of activities between now and then, including sub-patches 5.57 and 5.58, the return of familiar annual campaigns such as ‘Make it Rain’, the ‘Moonfire Faire’ and ‘The Rising’, and the return of the Final Fantasy XV Collaboration event.
A surprising omission from this schedule is the annual ‘All Saints Wake’ event, released to tie-in with the real-world harrowing festivities of Halloween. Hopefully more events are rolled out between now and then, otherwise it could be a few lacklustre months in Eorzea going forward…
