Patch 1.04 for Story of Seasons: Pioneers of Olive Town to Bring Improved Load Times, Issue Fixes

This week, Japanese players of Story of Seasons: Pioneers of Olive Town will see Patch 1.04 roll out onto their Nintendo Switch version of the farming simulator, with Marvelous Europe confirming that Europe, Australia and New Zealand will not be far behind.

The Version 1.04 update will introduce a small number of improvements, namely around improving load times which the publishers claim “many players have expressed concerns about”. According to them, loading times will be increased upon first launched, but will be decreased when moving between maps. Hopefully this results in a net positive time save. This is in addition to a small selection of issue fixes, which are outlined below:

  • Fixes an animation when making a “Special Prayer” at the shrine
  • Fixes an issue where save data could become corrupted after animals are born
  • Fixes an issue where the game could freeze after the child adoption event
  • Fixes an issue that created infinite items under certain conditions
  • Adds a language settings menu under “Options” in the game’s title screen
  • Other minor bug fixes

Marvelous Europe also confirmed that their next update, Version 1.05, will “go beyond optimization and bug fixes”, and in particular, “adjust the functionality of makers and update dialogue text”. A tentative patch notes for this update can be found below:

  • Adjusts some of the residents’ existing dialogue and adds new dialogue
  • Changes the functionality of all makers
  • Improves visuals during eating scenes
  • Adds the ability to lock movement in a straight line
  • Adjusts cooking times
  • Removes the need to press the A Button when moving from indoors to outdoors

Story of Seasons: Pioneers of Olive Town is now available for purchase on the Nintendo Switch in Japan (Marvelous Games), Europe, Australia, New Zealand (Marvelous Europe) and North America (XSEED Games)
