For quite some time now, players have been able to collect points through in-game accomplishments and spend them through the Ubisoft Club service, and been able to access Ubisoft’s own UPlay online store. But with a new generation of gaming upon us, it appears that the video game developer and publisher are looking to refresh their current platforms and incorporate it into one brand new player ecosystem. Known as Ubisoft Connect, Ubisoft claims that this is the “biggest overall on its history” for the platforms, and “paves the way for cross-platform features and communities”.
The new universal interface will launch alongside Watch Dogs: Legion on 29 October 2020, and enable players from across all platforms to interact with “Ubisoft’s in-game services, activities and community”. It will be available via current and next generation platforms including the Windows PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch. Planned for later this year, other services including Stadia, NVidia GeForce Now and Amazon Luna will offer some degree of Ubisoft Connect features.
