New DLC for Predator: Hunting Grounds Brings in Icon of 1987 Film

and Answer the Question "What happened to Dutch after he ‘got to the choppa’ in the classic 1987 Predator movie?"

Sony Interactive Entertainment and developer Illfonic has this week confirmed that a free update as well as paid downloadable content will be going live for Predator: Hunting Grounds at the end of this month. This will be the first in a line-up of monthly free update and paid DLC planned through to at least August 2020 at the very least.

This first set of content is aimed at those who wondered what happened to Dutch after he ‘got to the choppa’ in the 1987 Predator feature film. To be released on 26 May 2020, a free update will enable players to earn a series of tables as they level up which have been recorded by Dutch, chronicling his journey since 1987. These segments will be voiced by Arnold Schwarzenegger himself.

But are tapes not enough to sate your needs? As part of the paid downloadable content on offer at the same time, you will be able to play as Dutch. Those who purchase this content will also gain early-access to the QR5 “Hammerhead” Rifle and Dutch’s Knife which will be made freely available as part of June’s update. In a statement on the PlayStation Blog, Chief Creative Officer Jared Gerritzen described the experience of bringing Dutch into Predator: Hunting Grounds as a “dream come true“:

Creating the details, working with our partners to make certain everything fit together perfectly in the universe, and of course working with the legend himself has been a dream come true“.

Developed by Illfonic and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment, Predator: Hunting Grounds is a multiplayer shooter based on the wider Predator media franchise which is now available on the PlayStation 4 and Windows PC (via the Epic Games Store) platforms .
