Become a Squid! Special Demo Version of Splatoon 2 Goes Live

You're a kid, You're a squid!

Now a couple of years in age, Splatoon 2 may not be a prominent focus of Nintendo’s development and community-building time compared to their newest games; but that is not to say there isn’t enough to enjoy in this comical third-party shooting game to date. With a community of more than 9 million players worldwide, players take on the role of a SquidBoy or SquidGirl, partaking 4-on-4 turf war battles where the goal is to cover the most surface with your team’s ink colour by the end of the match.

If you have never purchased a copy of Splatoon 2 and have always been curious about what to expect, now is your opportunity to do so. From now until 6 May 2020 at 23:59 AEST, Nintendo is offering the free-to-download Splatoon 2 Special Demo 2020 from the Nintendo eShop. For the next week, anyone with a Nintendo Switch Online membership can download and dive into the game.

Participants will be able to partake in battles with friends and other players who own the game/demo, and participate in both Ranked Battle and Salmon Run co-op modes. If you decide to purchase the full game during the demo period, you can enjoy a 33% discount via the Nintendo eShop – but do check your local video game retailers for any better deals.
