Steins;Gate 10th Anniversary Marked with New Console Game Releases 1

With a sequel, several spin-off visual novels, two anime seasons, drama CDs and a wealth of other merchandise – for a series that bills itself as a “Science Adventure”, Steins;Gate has done pretty well for itself over the last decade. It could be argued that Steins;Gate gave visual novels a lot more of a mainstream audience in western markets than before, beginning with a home PC release then expanding to multiple platforms.

To mark this anniversary, publisher Spike Chunsoft today confirmed that two new releases are now available digitally for titles in the franchise. Following their release of Steins;Gate ELITE on the Nintendo Switch earlier this year, Steins;Gate 0 is now available digitally on the Nintendo eShop. In addition on the PlayStation 4, PC (via Steam) and Nintendo Switch, a fresh spin-off game Steins;Gate: My Darling’s Embrace is now available digitally. You can read more about each of these below.

Until 17 December, you can download each of these games with a 10% discount. However in SIEE regions, the Steins;Gate: My Darling’s Embrace discount is only available to PlayStation Plus members.

Steins;Gate 0

STEINS;GATE 0 continues the time travelling theme – but adds artificial intelligence as its central hook. Help a group of young students bend time to their will and prevent the onset of World War 3.

Tells the story of an ‘Alternate Worldline’ – what happens if players failed the original story. Interact with the story using your smart phone – answering (or not!) your phone, and your responses, will determine the outcome to the story.
