From the original LittleBigPlanet developers Media Molecule, Dreams is the studio’s latest foray into providing gamers with the tools to develop their own unique experiences which can be shared with the wider community. Being in early access since April 2019 on the PlayStation 4, the developer used Sony Computer Entertainment’s State of Play livestream to confirm a Valentine’s Day 2020 full release.
While LittleBigPlanet was heavily focused on creating imaginative side-scrolling platformers, Dreams expands the scope to cover multiple genres and grant a level of freedom to create assets including music, art and more. The below trailer highlights some of the content you will be able to develop in the game – albeit maybe at a higher level of skill.
Dreams can now be pre-ordered via the PlayStation Store at a price of $54.95 AUD. With the game becoming available for pre-order, it is no longer possible to purchase the Early Access version. Those who did purchase an Early Access copy will be upgraded to the full version at launch, and will be able to continue playing.
