Adult Sims Headed Back to Uni with Announcement of The Sims 4 Discover University Expansion 1

Since The Sims 2 released in the first half of the 2000s, fans have come to expect a number of staples from expansion packs being released for each numbered instalment. While some features such as pets, business ownership and seasons are those one would expect, given that only a handful of careers have ever not used rabbitholes to whisk your adult sims off-screen while they go about their jobs, a university expansion might be one of the more surprising staple expansions of each generation. Releasing what appears to be their final expansion back for The Sims 4 in 2019, Electronic Arts have today confirmed that The Sims 4: Discover University will be available on the PC and Mac on 15 November 2019 and home consoles (PS4 / Xbox One) from 17 December 2019.

The Sims 4: Discover University will once again allow your sims to a higher education facility to undertake a degree program while partaking in many of the perks of student life. In addition to the brand new world of Britechester being available, players will be able to choose to send their Sims to one of two different campuses – each of which have different specialities. Sims looking to specialise in science and technology fields would want to choose the modern Foxbury Institute, while those preferring majors in Arts and Humanities might prefer the more traditional campus of the University of Britechester. At the moment there are at least three confirmed major routes Sims can undertake – Engineering, Education and Law. These majors, provided how well Sims perform in their studies, will unlock new career paths in each major and help them excel in existing career paths.

Of course, this expansion isn’t just about the studying. Electrionic Arts have confirmed that there will be a range of new activities and items to help Sims fit right into the student life:

Sims can have study sessions at the library or take a break and mingle with new friends in the student commons, play juice pong, explore the campus on a bicycle or pull pranks against the rival school. Sims can also join school organisations like robotics, debate, art, or a mysterious secret society, and show off their school spirit at special events. Players can customise their Sims’ new digs, whether they’re living in a dorm or off-campus, with new décor like posters or a mini fridge and transform the space into their own personal haven. Sims can also develop their personal style with new clothing items inspired by the latest trends, including late-for-class attire, professional ensembles, or new pieces featuring their school’s colors.

A Comment from the Senior Producer

Easily the most requested piece of content by our players, we’re excited to reveal The Sims 4 Discover University and can’t wait for everyone to make the world of Britechester their classroom. Players can have their Sims live out whatever college experience they choose and create unique memories during an opportunistic chapter of their lives.

They can enroll in classes that pique their interest, whether that is biology, computer science, art history or even villainy! Players could set up their Sims for success and join a study group with friends or hit the snooze button and miss their morning lecture. They can also enjoy extracurricular activities such as joining college organisations and attending school spirit events.
