PlayStation Australia Gives Gamers a Chance to Win Replica Platinum Trophy

Do you consider yourself a trophy hunter? Are you willing to dedicate a lot of time post-launch to become the very first to 100% a game? Would you like a physical Platinum Trophy adorning your shelf? If you answered yes to these questions, then this new campaign from Sony Interactive Entertainment Australia may be for you.

Since the days of the PlayStation 3, many games have allowed you to unlock virtual “trophies” through your in-game actions and accomplishments. While some of these trophies can be quickly unlocked during gameplay, the more prestige Gold trophies require a lot of skill to receive. Collecting all trophies net you a Platinum Trophy, a digital icon representing your mastery of the game.

Sony Interactive Entertainment Australia have launched their PlayStation Plus Platinum Hunters project, a competition for “gaming connoisseurs to play, compete and be rewarded for their hours of effort to unlock every in-game trophy”.

The company have crafted four bespoke Platinum Trophies, which they will be offering to whom they deem to be Australia’s most dedicated trophy hunters. They claim that these limited-edition replicas will “give four passionate players the utmost bragging rights; being crowned as the nation’s best completionists”.

To win one of these trophies, players must complete all in-game accomplishments and unlock the Platinum Trophy for a select title. Once players achieve all in-game Trophies and receive the Platinum Digital Trophy, they must snap a screenshot using the SHARE button and upload it on Facebook or Twitter tagging @PlayStationAU and using the hashtag #PlusPlatinumHunters.

Sony Interactive Entertainment Australia have announced three of the four titles that will be part of this competition, all of which are set for release over the coming months.

  1. FIFA 18 (Launching 26 September 2017)
  2. Gran Turismo Sport (Launching 18 October 2017)
  3. Call of Duty: WWII (Launching 3 November 2017)

A fourth and final game will be announced at a later date.
