Lightning to Return as Part of Final Fantasy XIII Collaboration in Mobius Final Fantasy

-

Not unfamiliar to appearing in other games as a crossover collaboration character, Square Enix and game producer Yoshinori Kitase have confirmed that Final Fantasy XIII protagonist Lightning will be appearing in smartphone game Mobius Final Fantasy as the first Ultimate Hero. The newly introduced Ultimate Hero cards will strengthen the main character – and will allow them to don the appearance, voice and ultimate attack of the respective character.

This newest Final Fantasy XIII x Mobius Final Fantasy collaboration will not just be a card. Players will also be able to follow a new story inspired by Final Fantasy XIII.

By following the storyline, players will get access to a number of things including:

  • A new battle system: Travelling through the new “Lightning Resurrection” region will introduce a unique battle system where players will unlock paradigms to gain powerful effects in battle.
  • Hope and Snow: Final Fantasy XIII characters Hope (“Hope’s Guide) and Snow (“Unbroken Hero”) will both be obtainable as new Legend Job Summons. Those who summon these characters will also receive a Lightning-themed companion spirit.
  • Lightning and Noel: On September 15th, Hope and Snow will switch with Noel (“Last Hunter”) and Lightning (“Knight of Etro”) as unlockable Legend Job Summon cards
  • Additional Final Fantasy XIII themed bonuses: Players will be able to obtain additional items, such as the Blazefire Saber warrior weapon, an exclusive Lightning Ability Card and a Lightning Stamp by simply logging into the game. For a limited time, it will also be possible to acquire a new Supreme Card known as “Ragnarok: FFXIII”, which will allow players to unleash a “powerful and stunning move that attacks enemies ten times in quick succession”.
