While The Sims 3’s rabbit hole buildings did not allow you to have your Sims visit restaurants without additional downloadable content late in the game’s development cycle, both The Sims and The Sims 2 did incorporate such systems. With all buildings in The Sims 4 once again open for your Sims to visit, Electronic Arts and Maxis have decided that now is the time to give players a chance to visit, build and own their own restaurants. Known as The Sims 4: Dine Out – this Game Pack is now available for purchase via Origin.
The Sims 4: Dine Out allows players to create their own restaurants, which can range from a classic diner to an upscale bistro. But a theme can be more than just a touch of wallpaper and furniture. It is also possible to choose what food is available on the menu – which requires consideration of both restaurant theming and the capabilities of your staff. On the note of staff, it is possible to hire staff of your choosing, and training them from potentially incompetent chefs and waitstaff to a crew worthy of five stars.
As this is a Game Pack surrounding food, it should also come as no surprise that there are new food options available. Most prominently are experimental foods, which may look too good to eat, but are a challenge to create for all but the greatest chefs.
The Sims 4: Dine Out is now available for purchase via Origin, and requires The Sims 4 base game to play. This is a Game Pack, which is something between the standard Expansion and Stuff packs. These offer more than just furniture/clothing, but usually focus on one specific type of gameplay which alone isn’t enough to justify an expansion.
