[E3 2016] Titanfall 2 Confirmed for Late October Release on PC, PS4 and Xbox One

More than two years have passed since Electronic Arts and developer Respawn Entertainment released the primarily multiplayer first-person shooter Titanfall on the Windows PC and Xbox consoles. It seems like the demand is there for a sequel, and the companies have been working on a sequel – simply titled Titanfall 2.

With E3 2016 now upon us, Electronic Arts have today confirmed that Titanfall 2 will be available for purchase on the Xbox One, Windows PC and (for the first time ever on a PlayStation console) the PlayStation 3 starting Friday October 28 2016.

The game will offer both an offline single player campaign along with the multiplayer experience many will likely put more focus towards. In single player, Titanfall 2 will deliver a crafted experience which seeks to explore the unique bond between man and machine. It will let fans step out onto the Frontier as a Militia rifleman who has aspirations of becoming an elite Pilot. Stranded behind enemy lines and facing overwhelming odds, players must team up with a veteran Titan to uphold a mission they were never meant to carry out.

In terms of the multiplayer campaign, Respawn is setting out to continue evolving their gameplay to “provide a more robust experience that delivers expanded depth and variety that includes six new Titans, deeper Pilot abilities, more customization options, and a robust progression system”.

Prior to release, Titanfall 2 will have an open technical test designed to help Respawn Entertainment ensure a successful launch on October 28.

With the original Titanfall, we focused on nailing the gameplay and reinventing the way you move and fight in a first person shooter. With Titanfall 2, we’re building on that foundation by introducing a bespoke single player campaign backed by a deeper multiplayer experience that together will once again push the shooter genre forward.
