Following the launch of Pokemon X and Pokemon Y on the Nintendo 3DS in 2013, 2016 is set to be the year that The Pokemon Company release the newest titles in the long-running Pokemon RPG franchise, Pokemon Sun and Pokemon Moon. Set to arrive on store shelves starting November 18 2016 – this will be an entirely new journey, with a new region to explore and new Pokemon to catch, battle and trade.
While there is still quite a lot we have to learn about this duo of games prior to November, Nintendo have used E3 2016 to provide us with a new sneak peek at what to expect. This includes the introduction of several new Pokemon. This includes the newly introduced normal/flying type Pikipek, the normal type Yungoos, bug type Grubbin – all of which seem to be Pokemon you would encounter early on. The video also features the mythical steel/fairy type Pokemon, Magearna.
The video also highlights a new battle type known as “Battle Royale”, which will be playable between at least four human players. Seemingly available only between players, this is a four-player free-for-all, where each participant can bring out up to three Pokemon, and can choose which rival Pokemon they wish to attack each turn.
Developed by Game Freak and published by The Pokemon Company / Nintendo, Pokemon Sun and Pokemon Moon will be available on the Nintendo 3DS on November 18th 2016.
