Several new paid resource packs have recently been released for the RPG Maker line of video game development tools and the complementary character-sprite creation software Game Character Hub. On offer this week is a range of packs which cover music, animations, monsters and resources from RPG Maker DS.
#1 – Emotional Music Pack

First on offer is the ‘Emotional Music Pack’, which is a compilation of fifteen songs created by Richard S John. As the title indicates, this pack covers tracks which reflect upon sorrow, tragedy and remembrance – and might be a great choice for those who plan to include a lot of drama or death in your project. Each track has both a dry (no reberb) and wet (reverb) mix, and there are also several vocal based tracks included.

#2: Animations Collection 1: Quintessence
The second pack being offered is ‘Animations Collection 1: Quintessence’. Adding some variety to the animations which play when using skills, this pack delivers a range of special effects which have been designed “with the quintessential elements of a classic JRPG in mind”. To further break down the animations being offered, this pack includes:
- 11 unique elemental magic spell animations.
- 6 physical attack animations.
- 4 restorative item animations.
- 6 monster skill animations.
- 60 FPS and 30 FPS versions of each animation, for a total of 54 animation sheets.

#3: Tyler Warren’s 5th 50 Battler Pack
The next pack features work from returning artist Tyler Warren, and is known as ‘Tyler Warren’s 5th 50 Battler Pack’. Presenting something a bit unique from their previous pack, they have included fifty monster silhouettes. This might be something useful for a horror/mystery game, or presenting monsters in a dimly lit dungeon where the party might only be barely able to see what stands ahead of them.
All fifty silhouettes are presented in a range of sizes from large to tiny, and come in recommended sizes (proportional to each other) for both RPG Maker MV and RPG Maker VX Ace.

Game Character Hub: DS Generator Parts
Finally is a pack which requires the standalone Game Character Hub to utilise. Game Character Hub is a tool which allows users to utilise a sizable number of assets to create their own custom characters – similar to the built-in tool included with RPG Maker MV. Known as ‘Game Character Hub: DS Generator Parts’, this pack provides more than 150 new and unique items from RPG Maker DS which can be used to craft distinct characters. This includes medieval outfits and accessories, a variety of hairstyles with different colours and more.
