Gran Turismo Sport Announced This Morning, Launch Date Set for November 2016

During a rather lengthy unveiling event held this morning (above), Kazunori Yamauchi (CEO of Polyphony Digital) too to the stage and announced that work is ongoing on Gran Turismo Sport. It will debut via retail and digital channels from November 16th 2016.

With the lack of a number in its name, this does not seem to be part of the main Gran Turismo line-up of games. However, Gran Turismo Sport will still provide players with an opportunity to jump into the driving seat of some of the fastest cars on the planet.

Gran Turismo Sport is now available to pre-order from the PlayStation Store (Digital) in addition to video game retailers across Australia. But while you won’t have a choice of platform as this is a PlayStation 4 exclusive, you do have a choice of four editions:

  • Standard Edition – $99.95 AUD
  • Bonus Edition – $99.95 AUD (I presume this is a pre-order edition)
  • Steel Book Edition – $119.95 AUD
  • Collector’s Edition – $199.95 AUD.

The Collector’s Edition will include an exclusive miniature model of the Mercedes-AMG GTS and a car-lover’s guide written by the experts at Polyphony Digital themselves. Both the Steel Book Edition and Bonus Edition, meanwhile, will come with a selection of digital exclusives and extras. Also be sure to check with your local retailer for any themed ‘head-start’ packs they will be offering.
