Publisher 2K Games and developer Gearbox Software have recently uncovered new details on some of the features to be incorporated into their upcoming first-person shooter Battleborn.

The first newly announced feature is Hardcore Mode, developed for expert gamers who wish for an unforgiving level of difficulty. While the challenge might be considerably higher than other difficulty modes, you will be able to uncover extra loot and all-new unlockable content. Not too shabby.

While Battleborn does not feature an explicit colour blind mode, they are offering players the ability to set the colour of both their own team and opposing team. Your chosen colours will be applied to enemies, health bars, competitive objectives and more.

Should you be playing the Story Mode, you will be either to play a mission either solo or co-op. Should you have already been part of a match but for some reason been disconnected, you can use the “Be Right Back” feature to rejoin your team. Those after competitive multiplayer gameplay on the other hand will be able to take advantage of several modes:

  1. Incursion – Take out the enemy’s two Spider Sentry Drones. The winning team is the one whose drones have not been destroyed by the opposing team.
  2. Capture – Classic Capture-and-Control battle between two teams.
  3. Meltdown – Each team marches waves of minions to their death. Points are scored for every minion who ends up hurled into an incinerator.

Each of these modes will have two maps at launch, with more planned as post-release content. The game will also feature skill-based matchmaking, where you will be matched up with similarly skilled players.

Developed by Gearbox Software and published by 2K Games, Battleborn will launch on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Windows PC platforms starting May 3rd 2016.
