Microsoft Report Strong Sales for Quantum Break on Xbox One

Back in 2010, the Finnish development studio Remedy Entertainment released Alan Wake on the Xbox 360. With their attention to detail when it came to presenting an enticing storyline, it was a shame that it took until 2016 for them to publish their next major story-oriented IP – Quantum Break. But from the response recently issued by Microsoft, it seems like this newest game was just watch the Xbox One needed.

Microsoft have announced that Quantum Break has ended up being the #1 best-selling Xbox game around the world during its first week of launch, and is now the biggest-selling new Microsoft Studios published IP this generation. While I will be publishing my review of Quantum Break shortly, this news doesn’t surprise me that much. Here’s hoping that this is another IP Remedy Entertainment won’t be halting work on anytime soon.

Sam Lake | Creative Director at Remedy Entertainment

Making Quantum Break has been a long journey. Creating a new AAA franchise is always a risk and a huge investment, but at Remedy we want to push ourselves, explore new ideas and realize new visions. It’s wonderful to see gamers want that too. We’re hugely grateful for the positive reception and glad to see that the story of Jack Joyce and Paul Serene resonates with so many players.

This news only relates to the Xbox One version of Quantum Break however, and it seems like some issues have arisen for those playing the Windows 10 version. Microsoft Studios and Remedy Entertainment are currently working to resolve these issues, with more information available HERE.
