Etrian Odyssey V’s Character Creation System Receives Several Aesthetic Improvements

When it comes to past Etrian Odyssey dungeon-crawling RPG’s, you have been fairly limited in terms of character creation. Each character class has usually had only four designs associated with them, and minimal options to make a character’s appearance more to your liking. While there are still some of these limitations implemented in the system, new changes have been added in Etrian Odyssey V to give your party members a bit of customisable flair.

In total, you will be given access to around ten different character classes, each of which will still have only four portrait designs associated with them. The added twist is that you will be able to edit the hair and eye colours of these characters using either twelve pre-defined colours or RGB sliders. It will also be possible to set a character’s skin colour using one of 12 pre-defined colours.

Etrian Odyssey V will also allow you to give your characters one of forty difference voices, perfect for those who want a bit of flair when it comes to battle grunts, one-liners and possibly something more.

Etrian Odyssey V is the latest core release in the Etrian Odyssey franchise, following Etrian Odyssey IV: Legends of Titan back in 2012. The game will be available exclusively on the Nintendo 3DS in Japan starting August 4th 2016. No western release date has been announced as of yet.
