FuRyu Release First Trailer for Caligula (カリギュラ)

-

Get ready for another “trapped in a virtual world game”, as the team at FuRyu are working on a new game called Caligula (カリギュラ). For release in June 2016 within Japan, this PlayStation Vita JRPG is being developed by Aquria (of Sword Art Online: Hollow Fragment acclaim) and written by Tadashi Satomi (A scenario writer for Persona 1 and Persona 2).

Caligula takes place in the virtual world of Mobius, with its inhabitants (also known as “students”) unknowingly trapped in what is described as an ideal high school life. While they have been forced to repeat their school lives over and over again with no knowledge of their former lives, some students have recognised their situation and have decided to fight against their fate. Forming a club, they work towards this goal and their eventual escape. However things begin to get more complicated when some of the club members suffered in their former lives… and may not be so willing to return to reality.

Caligula is set for release in Japan starting 23 June, exclusively on the PlayStation Vita. No international publisher has been confirmed to date. However given their past work on other FuRyu titles including The Legend of Legacy (3DS) and Lost Dimension (PS3 / PS Vita), ATLUS USA might be a possible international publisher in the future.
