With players racking up an average of 4 hours and 52 minutes spent as an activated sleeper agent and journeying through pandemic-struck New York, Ubisoft have announced strong attendance and participation during their recent beta test period for Tom Clancy’s The Division.
In total, 6.4 million players took part in the test across the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Windows PC gaming platforms. Of the time players spent in-game, more than one third of this time was spent in The Division’s player-versus-player environment, the Dark Zone, with more than 2.5 million participants going rogue. During the Open Beta period, Ubisoft provided daily recaps of the test – including a highlights from players and more. You can read these for yourself HERE.
Like most beta tests run nowadays, there was more to this test than simply providing players with a sneak peek. Ubisoft is using this opportunity to test their onlien infrastructure and make changes/updates to the game. Will this help combat the server issues quite often found on Day 1? Time will tell.
