Cave’s Shmup ‘Deathsmiles’ Headed to Steam in ‘Spring 2016’

-

It has recently been revealed that Cave’s shmup Deathsmiles will see new life on the PC through an upcoming port for the Steam digital download platform. This release has been licensed to and shall be published by Degica, the same team who have brought the RPG Maker franchise to western markets. This announcement follows Degica’s Steam release of Mushihimesama, which was also initially developed by CAVE Interactive.

Deathsmiles (Aka. デススマイルズ) was a horizontal side scrolling shoot em’ up (shmup)  which was first released internationally on the Xbox 360 in 2010 (North America) and the first few months of 2011 (PAL / Australia). This PC port is expected to go live sometime in “Spring 2016” (or Autumn 2016 if you are in the southern hemisphere).

In Deathsmiles, you take the role of one of five Angels to defend the magical land of Gilverado from an invasion by Hell itself. You can find the game’s promotional video above, or check out its official teaser website HERE.
