Although its ending may have been fairly weak, I did really enjoy Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch when it was released on the PlayStation 3 in 2013. In fact, it ultimately ended up coming first place in my “Video Game of the Year Awards 2013”. While the story of Oliver, Drippy, Esther and Swaine may be over, there are still more stories to be told in Level-5’s unique universe.
Bandai Namco Entertainment and Level-5 have announced during PlayStation Experience that they are working on a sequel for Ni no Kuni titled Ni no Kuni II: REVENANT KINGDOM. This game will be exclusively available on the PlayStation 4, however a release date has yet to be confirmed. While the last game was currently developed in collaboration with acclaimed animation studio Studio Ghibli, it is currently unknown if a similar partnership stands with this title.
While details are currently limited, Ni no Kuni II: REVENANT KINGDOM follows a new character named King Evan, whose throne is usurped. Aided by Roland, a man who like Oliver comes from another world, King Evan works to reclaim his kingdom.
