Stella Glow – Song Magic Trailer / Screenshots

In their latest trailer for the upcoming JRPG Stella Glow, ATLUS USA have highlighted the Song Magic mechanic which is integral to its battle system. According to game chronology, only five people on the entire planet know song magic, and all five are witches. One of these has turned evil and wrecking havoc upon humanity, while the others can potentially be your allies.

Protagonist Alto will be able to recruit witches to his party, and as the ‘Song Stone’ meter gradually fills through battles, it will be possible to use song magic to turn the tide of battle. The impact had by song magic depends on which witch you use and your own playstyle, as this magic can debuff enemies, damage enemies or heal allies. Unlocking Song Magic requires use of Stella Glow’s ‘Free Time’ instances, where Alto can tune a Witch’s heart to unlock more song magic (and increase his bond with them).

Developed by Imageepoch, Stella Glow is being localised and published in North America by ATLUS USA. Exclusive to the Nintendo 3DS, this JRPG is set for release on November 17 2015. A PAL region release has already been confirmed by Nippon Ichi Software America, although is not set to hit store shelves until 2016.

Official Blurb on Stella Glow
In Stella Glow, protagonist Alto starts as a country boy in a small town. One day, he hears a song coming from the forest (which is odd, since song has been absent on the planet for thousands of years), where he discovers the lone Hilda. But after the chance encounter, Hilda reveals she’s the Witch of Destruction, hellbent on destroying the world with her Harbingers. As Hilda is about to destroy Alto’s hometown, he and Lisette are rescued by the Royal Knights and whisked back safely to the kingdom. Alto joins the 9th Regiment for the sole purpose of gathering the other Witches to stop Hilda.
