Ubisoft Share New Trailer, Announce Showtime Mode and New Songs for Just Dance 2016

-

Video game developer and publisher Ubisoft have recently announced nine new tracks for inclusion in Just Dance 2016, which is set to receive an extensive multiplatform launch beginning October 22nd 2015. These nine songs, to be available as part of the game’s overall 40+ song tracklist, include:

  • “Fancy” by Iggy Azalea Ft. Charli XCX
  • “Fun” by Pitbull Ft. Chris Brown
  • “Lights” by Ellie Goulding
  • “I’m An Albatraoz” by AronChupa
  • “Circus” by Britney Spears
  • “Balkan Blast Remix” from Angry Birds
  • “Stuck On A Feeling” by Prince Royce
  • “Boys (Summertime Love)” by The Lemon Cubes
  • “Rabiosa” by Shakira Ft. El Cata

I am very curious to see what sort of dance they will be able to choreograph for Balkan Blast Remix – as the more novelty and pop culture songs present in earlier Just Dance titles have been some of the more memorable. Granted I occasionally regretted the muscle pain associated with them, I frequently danced to songs including Tetris (Just Dance 2015), Prince Ali (Just Dance 2014) and Time Warp (Just Dance 4).

As a new feature exclusive to the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Wii U gaming platforms, Ubisoft have also confirmed they will be introducing a new “Showtime” mode in Just Dance 2016. This mode seeks to “allow players to unleash their inner star by creating unique music videos of themselves performing”.

Instead of being like a karaoke video game where you are required to sing, this mode allows players to lip-sync and perform songs – with the original song and video footage turned into a shareable music video (Although given the presence of the original song recording, expect certain terms and conditions to apply). The music videos for each song are set to offer “distinctive and visually original atmosphere”, through “creative visual elements” and “pop cultural references”.
