In a recent announcement made by Cloud Imperium Games, the Star Citizen Alpha Client (Currently comprising of both the Hangar and Arena Commander modules) has been updated to version 1.1.6.

While the complete patch notes can be read HERE, the main gameplay features introduced in this latest patch are improved matchmaking (With players now being matched based on past performances) and changes made to rules guiding Vanduul Swarm, Battle Royale and Squadrom Battle.

Perhaps the most notable inclusion however is the new Launcher verison 2.3.4 – set to immediately replace the old Launcher.. It now uses non-P2P torrent technology to only replace the files needed, has been built in-house and can use up to 100% of your available bandwidth for improved download speeds. It is highly recommended that players uninstall and redownload their game using the new launcher, however it is possible to copy certain files over to potentially retain your current install.
