Following the game’s successful crowdfunding campaign and some considerable delays, Nyu Media have announced that their 2D fighting game Yatagarasu Attack on Cataclysm is now available for purchase via Steam and the Humble Store. The game is priced at $14.99, and is available on the PC.
Yatagarasu is a Street Fighter III inspired fighting game project undertaken by three former SNK / King of Fighter developers: Shiza, Kotani and Umezono. This localised edition is set to expand upon the NESiCAxLive version that was released in Japan last year, with features including: character commentaries, English/Japanese language support, a new story, new stages and more.
Yatagarasu Attack on Cataclysm successfully raised $118,000 in its 2013 IndieGoGo campaign. Although initially set for release in a February 2014 launch window, a “workload far [exceeding] expectations” was given as a main reason for the hold up. Delay aside, lets hope this meets the expectations of fighting game fans in an already competitive market.
Expect a review of this game on The Otaku’s Study soon.
