While there are several Hatsune Miku games released in Japan that have not and will likely never be released in Western markets (Particularly the original PSP games), Sega have done pretty good in handling their English localised releases of both Hatsune Miku Project Diva F and Hatsune Miku Project Diva F 2nd on PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita consoles. Seeking to offer something a bit different for fans of the franchise, Sega are now working on delivering Hatsune Miku: Project Mirai DX on the Nintendo 3DS.

While gameplay remains fairly similar to the Project Diva games, a number of aesthetic changes are introduced for the smaller, portable screen. Most notably, rather than each character having a design with an anatomical structure similar to humans, each has a design reminiscent of Nendoroid figures. From the new screenshots recently provided by Sega, the backdrops seem to be more simplistic than the ones used in Project Diva F, however come across as being a little more cuter and appropriate for the Nintendo 3DS’ screen.

Sega is set to begin its international distribution of Hatsune Miku: Project Mirai DX starting September 8 2015, at a price of $39.99.
