While Collector’s Editions tend to be announced with minimal if any mass community input (although exceptions do exist to varying degrees), Square Enix and Avalanche Studios opted to do something different with their special edition for Just Cause 3.
Even before the first gameplay trailers were made available for the game, in March 2015, fans were asked what goodies their would like in their ideal Collector’s Edition. Through a dedicated voting page, fans could vote for three items which they would like to see in the edition – raging from a 32-page mini artbook to several more impressive options.
Square Enix have announced which items will be available in this edition, currently available from select retail outlets for $109.99 USD. These include:
- Day One Edition of Just Cause 3
- Replica version of Rico’s famous grappling hook
- Weaponized Vehicle Pack in-game content
- 24-inch by 24-inch poster map of the Mediterranean archipelago of Medici
- 32-page, hardcover art book

Much like the high-octane action of Just Cause 3, we wanted to give fans a Collector’s Edition that speaks to their breed of fun. Out of all the items we offered, the grappling hook was by far the most popular, and the fans made a solid choice to elevate this collection.
