While there are positive and negative aspects about the more restrictive approach taken with regards to open-world gameplay and neighbourhood design in The Sims 4, one of the greatest limitations is that there is currently no way to give yourself more lots (outside of creating a new save file) when your (limited) supply of them run out. While The Sims 4 came with the worlds Willow Creek and Oasis Springs (Both with 21 Lots shared between Residential and Commercial property), both Outdoor Retreat and Get to Work only provided small-scale lots which were designed with each’s new content in mind.
In the most recent update for The Sims 4, the development team have provided builders and creators with another world to explore and leave their mark on – Newcrest. Newcrest is dived into three neighbourhoods with five lots each, giving players access to a total of 15 lots of varying sizes.
Unlike all other worlds introduced in The Sims 4, Newcrest is a blank canvas with no pre-made residential or community lots. Therefore, you can opt to make this your “community lot” / “business” world, or potentially fill it up with fifteen new families of your own creation.
