[E3 2015] Animal Crossing: Amiibo Festival – Announcement, Screenshots, Trailer

While the Nintendo 3DS is set to receive a new Animal Crossing game in the form of Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer, the Wii U is set to receive another Animal Crossing experience never presented before – Animal Crossing: Amiibo Festival. This game, to be released during the 2015 Holiday Season, will be complemented by a range of Animal Crossing amiibo, featuring characters including Isabelle and Tom Nook.

Delivering an experience quite reminiscent of earlier Mario Party games (Before they decided to have all characters move across a relatively linear board together), Animal Crossing: Amiibo Festival brings to life an expansive and dynamic board game, where the board is based on the months of the year like the core Animal Crossing series. The goal? Make your villager the happiest in town and party hard with your friends.

While more information will likely be announced in the coming months, it will be interesting to see how much of the game will rely on Amiibo’s, and how much of the game can be enjoyed with just the base release and minimal/no additional amiibo purchases.
