SEGA To Publish Dengeki Bunko: Fighting Climax Outside of Japan

-

While they did for one point in time go back to focusing on their core franchises, Sega have in recent months done their darndest to appeal towards the niche crowd with localizations of Hatsune Miku Project Diva F / F 2nd and upcoming releases of Yakuza 5 and Hatsune Miku Project Mirai.

Sega have today announced a new partnership with Japanese developers Ecole and French Bread to bring the crossover fighting game Dengeki Bunko: Fighting Climax to international markets. Available on the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita, this game features characters from a variety of Japanese novels published under the Dengeki Bunko label including but not limited to Asuna/Kirito from Sword Art Online, Shizuo Heiwajima from DuRaRaRa!!, Kirino Kosaka from Oreimo and even Tomoka Minato from Ro-Kyu-Bu!!.

In 2D fighting environments, players attack, guard, and take damage in order to build their Climax Meter, allowing them to execute moves which recreate highlight scenes from the original novels, even adding specially arranged animations for characters who do not fight in the original works.

With controls skillfully adapted to fit each playable character, Dengeki Bunko: Fighting Climax is simultaneously easy to learn and a challenge to master. We are excited to work with Ecole and French Bread to bring this beautiful high-action game to the West.

Release formats in North America and PAL regions have yet to be confirmed, however Dengeki Bunko: Fighting Climax has been slated for a 2015 release.

  1. Looking forward to play as Kirito and best up the protagonist from “Irregular”, that show was terrible and a waste of my time.

P.S. Actually I should probably start to marathon all those other animes whose characters appear in this game soon huh!
