To celebrate the Star Citizen’s second anniversary of crowdfunding, Cloud Imperium Games have decided to make all five available trainer ships for Arena Commander test drivable between now and October 17th 2014. This means that even if you don’t own them, you can try out the Aurora, 300i, Hornet, M50 and the 350R to your hearts content.
They have claimed that this will allow them to see what the game is like with different combinations of ships across all the Arena Commander modes, and also serve as a means of stress testing. This process will be used in the future to unlock specific ships for similar testing purposes.
Even if you choose not to buy any of these five ships, you can opt to buy them when the game’s persistent universe launches for in-game credits.
