The French Revolution simulation is collapsing.

I don’t know what time period you’ll land in, but you need to get out of there.

Run!

The simulated environments found in Assassin’s Creed games have never exactly been bug or mystery free, but many games in and Ubisoft are still finding ways to impress fans with these glitches and bugs.

In this latest trailer for Assassin’s Creed Unity, we are treated to our first peek at the “Time Anomalies” system. While vague on specifics, this video sees the player forced to flee from the collapsing French Revolution simulation. Unknown of the destination, the player finds themselves in what seems to be World War II era France. This allows players to climb the iconic Eiffel Tower and man a machine gun against fighter planes.

This seems to be similar to the real world missions in Assassin’s Creed III where the player will occasionally have their story interrupted for the sake of one of these special missions. It will be interesting to see the reason for the simulation collapsing however.

Assassin’s Creed Unity is the “current gen” console release in the franchise this year, set to launch on the PlayStation 4, PC and Xbox One starting November 13th 2014.
