Perth-based development studio Gnomic Studios have announced that they will be offering 1,000 free keys for their upcoming arena shooter Square Heroes for those who check out the beta test. The beta is now live, with the full game being available for purchase via Steam and other digital distribution platforms from October 2014.
To be eligible for a free promotional key, all you have to do is fulfill these requirements:
- Download the Beta from any supporting service.
- Create a Profile with your email address.
- Profile must reach Level 3 before the beta ends and must be in the first 1000 profiles to do so.
- You can only be awarded one key.
Square Heroes was one of the games to receive a grant from the now defunct Screen Australia Games Production Fund (I can’t discuss why it was defunct without becoming very frustrated… so I won’t). The game is also currently progressing through Steam Greenlight, and will also be exhibited at PAX Australia in Melbourne next month at Stand IDP15.
Square Heroes is a hilarious comic arena shooter featuring Online, LAN, Co-op and local multi-player; a single-player Tournament; and an arsenal of weapons to blast your friends out of the sky! The game has the competitive multiplayer of twitch shooters like Quake and Counter Strike, the local multiplayer fun of Goldeneye and an art style reminiscent of Worms.
