
During the Gamescom 2014 convention in Cologne, Germany, Sony Computer Entertainment announced that they had passed another milestone for the PlayStation 4 video game and entertainment system which first launched in North America during early-November 2013. Representing the fastest and strongest growth of any PlayStation console, it has been confirmed that they have managed to sell more than 10 million PS4 units worldwide as of August 10th, 2014(*1). This is in addition to more than 30 million (*2) copies of games being sold in retail stores and through digital downloads via their PlayStation Store service.
