Each and every major instalment in The Sims series has offered a different take on the original life simulation genre:
The Sims 1 was about life, and set a bar for future releases
The Sims 2 was about the stages of life, as they introduced the six-tiers (seven-tier with University) of aging
The Sims 3 was about community, where they opened up the single-lot borders and provided one single, unified world which was freely navigable
One of the major introductions to The Sims 4 is a complete overhaul of the Sims’ emotions, allowing each of them to be anything from happy or angry to energized or dazed. Emotions are a powerful tool that can be used to a player’s advantage to build skills quicker and reap new rewards. Alternatively they can be a hindrance to the Sims’ happy life, leading them to an early meeting with the Grim Reaper.
The Sims 4 is set to hit store shelves on September 4th, 2014.
