While many games from the early to mid 80’s have been long forgotten, Tetris along with other classics such as Pac-Man have continued to make a mark on the video game industry even today. With Tetris celebrating its 30th anniversary, Ubisoft have announced that a new edition of the game, Tetris Ultimate, will be released as a digital download title for the Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC gaming platforms. This will be the very first release of the game on the new 8th generation video game consoles.
Currently very little is known on this release aside from the handful of screenshots below and the following description:
With exciting modes, fun features and unique visuals, Tetris Ultimate allows 1–4 players to face off in six different game modes: Marathon, Endless, Ultra, Sprint, Battle and Power-Up Battle.
Ubisoft have provided a Spring 2014 launch window for Tetris Ultimate. More information may be unveiled at E3 2014 next week.
