Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair For Release in West During September 2014

-

Following the success of Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc earlier this year, Nippon Ichi Software America have wasted no time in fast tracking its sequel Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair to western markets. The company have today confirmed that the PlayStation Vita murder-mystery visual novel will be available in North America from September 2nd, 2014 and PAL regions from September 5th, 2014 at both retail and digital download channels.

As was the case in the first game, players take the role of a generic protagonist (Hajime Hinata) as he and other fellow students of Hope’s Peak Academy are trapped in a life-and-death situation with a sadistic teddy bear known as Monokuma. While the setting has changed from a school to a beach resort the rules remain the same: one student must successfully carry of a murder without getting caught by anyone else. Should they succeed, they are free to go while all remaining survivors face a “punishment”. Should they fail, they will be the ones facing a life-threatening “punishment”.

Jabberwock Island – once a popular tourist destination, this now uninhabited island remains oddly pristine. You and your classmates at the elite Hope’s Peak Academy have been brought to this island by your super-cute teacher for a “lovey-dovey, heart-throbbing school trip.” Everyone seems to be having fun in the sun…until Monokuma returns to restart his murderous game! Trapped on this island of mutual killing, your only hope of escape rests in solving the island’s mysteries. But be warned—sometimes the truth can be its own despair…
