After multiple beta tests and much promotion, Carbine Studios’ MMO WildStar is set to enter its 3-day head start period this Saturday which will then be followed by a full, paid release. The developers have shared the above trailer to highlight what they believe makes WildStar a “completely new frontier”.
WildStar won’t be freely accessible, and requires an initial purchase of the game (SE: $59.99, DE: $74.99) which comes with 30-days of game time. Subsequent months will require additional payment or in-game purchase of C.R.E.D.D. (Similar to EVE Online’s PLEX, these can either be sold for in-game gold OR translated into 30-days of game time). Time will tell if they can maintain this payment structure or if they will resort to either buy-to-play or free-to-play modes.
