While they haven’t received as much of an overhaul since the original PlayStation 2 launch of Final Fantasy X in comparison to the rest of the game, Square Enix seems to be proud enough of the CGI animated sequences in Final Fantasy X HD Remaster to warrant a whole video release dedicated to them.
Titled “The Fall of a Great City”, it looks at the opening moments of the game where Zanarkand is first attacked by the entity known as “Sin”, who subsequently manages to send male protagonist Tidus 1,000 years into the future where the main events take place.
During this sequence, the technologically-advanced metropolis, Zanarkand, is attacked by the mysterious force known as Sin during a key match of the popular sport known as blitzball. Tidus, star player of the world-famous Zanarkand Abes, is caught up in the annihilation that is the beginning of a journey that goes beyond imagination.
Final Fantasy X HD Remaster is one half of the upcoming collection Final Fantasy X | X-2 HD Remaster on the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita. It marks the first time in over ten years since either game was published to the international market, while also including features initially contained in the games Japan-exclusive editions.
