ACE Team, the indie video game developer behind Zeno Clash and Rock of Ages, have confirmed that they are aiming towards developing their third IP titled Abyss Odyssey. Described as a “downward journey into the depths of the unknown”, Abyss Odyssey is set to be a procedurally generated action adventure title for the PlayStation 3, Xbox360 and PC. In the game, three warriors are available to challenge the titular abyss: the bold Katrien, the tortured specter Ghost Monk, and the ethereal Pincoya. But no matter how powerful these warriors get, their descent is a circular trip filled with threats.
As with many other progressively generating games, the experience is not set to be the same twice – be it the monsters you are pitted against, the locations of life-saving merchants or the paths between levels. There are only two constants in Abyss Odyssey: a great evil awaits at the bottom of the pit, and succeed or die, the warriors will have to battle the abyss for eternity. But the enemies in the abyss are no mere fodder – each one has a complex set of moves. Their only weakness? Almost all of them can be controlled by you.

Abyss Odyssey is set for release in Summer 2014 for the PlayStation 3, Xbox360 and Windows PC platforms. While ACE Team is considered an indie developer, their game will be published by the team at ATLUS USA who have previously handled Zeno Clash and Rock of Ages.
