Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2 – Recording the Soundtrack Developer Diary

-

During the weekend it was announced by Konami that Dave Cox (Producer) and the team at Mercury Steam recently made their way to Abbey Road Studio for the recording of Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2‘s orchestral score.

Rather than simply telling Castlevania fans the news, they released above seven minute trailer featuring Dave Cox as he oversees and comments on the production of the game’s soundtrack alongside composer Oscar Araujo who has worked on previous installments in the franchise.

Dave Cox details how he was introduced to Oscar, and how the talented Spaniard has worked closely with the game to produce a musical ‘heart’ that is a fitting conclusion to the critically acclaimed series. The video also features exclusive footage taken from the recording, while Araujo himself details the methodology he uses in the creation of the game’s soundtrack.

Honestly… even if you aren’t interested in the commentary, this may be worth a watch for the music itself.
