Alongside their major announcement of Persona 5 a short while ago, ATLUS announced that 2014 will also involve three other Persona 3/4 series spinoff titles on video game consoles. The Playstation Vita exclusive option in this set is the rhythm based title Persona 4: Dancing All Night which is to be co-developed by Dingo. The company’s involved have shared a new set of screenshots on the title as well as details on its storyline and three currently revealed characters.
Following the events of Persona 4 and Persona 4 Arena, the investigation team have moved on with Rise Kujikawa moving to the city to revive her career as an idol, after initially giving it up during the events of the original game. During this time, Yu Narukami meets Rise in the city she is performing at – but this leads them into another spate of mysterious disappearances. In true P4 style, a rumor spreads in the industry about a website that when opened at midnight traps the viewer in the “Mayonaka Stage”. With a number of idols trapped in this new world, Yu calls out to the investigation team regroup to rescue the trapped idols…. through dance!
Currently only three characters are listed to appear in the game – Yu Narukami, Rise Kujikawa and formerly a mentioned character Kanami “Kanamin” Mashita. However their trailer also hinted at a number of returning characters yet to make an appearance. There will be 30 music tracks from the earlier releases which have been remixed to suit the dancing game vibe – with not only tracks produced by Shoji Meguro but other musicians.
